About

The Biscuit Man, Bob and the world they inhabit were written years before the Columbine High School massacre and the recurring tragedies within our nation's schools and public spaces.

Their world is packed with ludicrous violence, non-sequiturs and a naive sense of morality. Everyone fights to survive when the primary characters are forces of nature that can’t be reasoned with.

Despite recurring themes, I do not condone violence and believe gun control and mental health care are required for a healthy society. My hope in sharing this collection is to help others find humor in life's brutal absurdity.

Their style and content were influenced by Dick & Jane, Aesop’s Fables, Shel Silverstein, The Twilight Zone, and Roald Dahl.

The Beginning

One day in high school English class, a classmate gave an oral report on Guy de Maupassant. She shared Maupassant wrote 300 short stories over the course of a year.

Foolishly, I thought it impossible to write anything lengthy or meaningful in such a short time. As my classmate continued her report, I snarkily wrote a story and handed it to a friend. He read it and giggled.

I wrote another. I was hooked.

Everything was fodder as I wrote more stories about school, friends, and real-world events. Thanks to word of mouth and their snack size length they became a cult hit among classmates and teachers.
